Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans

By F. W. Murnau

Synopsis

A sophisticated city woman seduces a farmer and convinces him to murder his wife. An allegory about good, evil, love and destiny.

This first American film of masterful lyricism, directed by a German exile, achieves a formal perfection which marks the almost divine fusion of European art with American cinema.
