Synopsis

A Kore­an War vet­er­an and crim­i­nal pleads insan­i­ty and is admit­ted to a men­tal insti­tu­tion, where he ral­lies up the scared patients against the tyran­ni­cal nurse.

Jack Nichol­son’s act­ing, between mad­ness and rea­son, comes to light in this film which offers a dehu­man­ized vision of psy­chi­a­try and its insti­tu­tions where social order must prevail.
