As for the documentaries, Hubert Attal, alongside his producers, set the ball rolling with Kirk Douglas’s « The Untamed » followed by the documentary « Kubrick by Kubrick » presented by Gregory Monroe, thus making a tribute to two embematic figures of American Cinema.
Directors Pierre Lescure, Maxime Switek and Philippe Lezin presented their film in front of enthusiastic cinema lovers, in the company of Pierre Lescure, President of the Cannes Film Festival.
The Series of Uncle Sam documentaries included the showing of ‘Deauville and the American Dream’, presented by its Director Daphné Bawir.
Concerning the Competition, the director of the film The Assistant by Kitty Green and the director of Sound of Metal, Darius Marder, who were unfortunately unable to attend Deauville this year, presented their feature length film which can be seen on the Festival social networks.
As for the film premieres ( and those spine chilling films) two showings from the official Cannes Film Festival selection 2020, Teddy by Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma and Penninsula by Yen Sang- Ho were warmly welcomed in a packed house at the CID in Deauville.
