Tessa Louise-Salomé

Award-win­ning French direc­tor, writer, and pro­duc­er Tes­sa Louise-Salomé’s work fore­grounds visu­al­ly-poet­ic approach­es to sto­ry­telling. She pro­duces films that com­bine social jus­tice issues with a focus on the artist’s cre­ative uni­verse. She made Dri­ve In Holy Motors (2013), a chron­i­cle of the film­ing of Leos Carax’s fifth film, and lat­er Mr. X, an immer­sion in the filmmaker’s sin­gu­lar uni­verse. For Arte she direct­ed Once Upon a Time… Mom­my (2017), about Xavier Dolan’s elec­tri­fy­ing film. Nar­rat­ed by Willem Dafoe, The Wild One (2022) recounts the life of mav­er­ick artist Jack Garfein.
