In the early stages of her career, she created several small video projects and performances that have been presented at sites such as the MoMA and the Guggenheim Museum. Her first feature film, Me and You and Everyone We Know, won several prizes in 2005 included the Critics’ Week Grand Prize and the Caméra d’Or at the Festival de Cannes, but also the Special Jury Prize at Sundance. She also wrote the book of short stories “No One Belongs Here More Than You” (2007) and the novel “The First Bad Man” (2015).
