About

“To be a good actor, you have to feed on the personality of others, enrich yourself by watching others, feed on others.”

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, to an American father and a French mother, Kacey Mottet Klein began his acting career at only 7. Discovered during an open casting call, he gave his first performance on the big screen alongside Isabelle Huppert in Ursula Meier’s Home (2008), earning Best Emerging Actor Award at the Swiss Film Prize 2009. The following year, he played young Serge Gainsbourg in Joann Sfar’s Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life. He then acted in over ten films and garnered numerous awards, including two César Award nominations for Most Promising Actor: in 2013 for Ursula Meier’s Sister, and in 2017 for André Téchiné’s Being 17. He will be seen next in Audrey Diwan’s feature film Happening which was selected this year in competition at the Venice Biennale.
