Jonathan Jakubowicz

Born in 1978 in Cara­cas, he stud­ied com­mu­ni­ca­tions at the Uni­ver­si­dad Cen­tral de Venezuela. His first fea­ture Secue­stro Express became Venezuela’s high­est-gross­ing film of all times in 2005, eclips­ing such movies as Titan­ic or Star Wars. In 2010 he co-direct­ed for HBO Prófu­gos, the biggest action dri­ven orig­i­nal series ever made in Latin Amer­i­ca. His sec­ond film Hands of Stone, star­ring Édgar Ramírez, pre­miered at the 2016 Cannes Film Fes­ti­val. Resis­tance is his third feature.
