Farhad Safinia

Born in 1975 in Teheran, he left his native coun­try with his fam­i­ly at the age of four to live in Paris, then Lon­don. He stud­ied at Char­ter­house School, and at King’s Col­lege, Cam­bridge. After grad­u­at­ing, he moved to New York City where he stud­ied film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2001, he wrote and direct­ed the short film Out­side the Box. He also wrote the screen­play of Mel Gibson’s Apoc­a­lyp­to (2006) and cre­at­ed the TV series Boss (2011). The Pro­fes­sor and the Mad­man is his fea­ture debut.
