If the Deauville Festival’s main competition synthesizes the event’s artistic ambitions, the Revelation Jury sketches its future. What greater mission than to unveil the talents of tomorrow, the unknowns who will become the next great American filmmakers ?
Six jury members will convene this year under the leadership of Élodie Bouchez, an actress whose face encapsulates the breadth of French cinema and whose personality embodies a career marked by talent and distinction, precious qualities for her mission as Jury President.
She will be joined by personalities all unique unto themselves, promising a spirited choice of winner: the dancer, actress and multitalented director Andréa Bescond, herself Best Newcomer at the 2019 Molière Awards; Eddy de Pretto, a writer, composer and actor whose voice has infused French chanson with freshness and freedom; Nicolas Pariser, a pioneering filmmaker who has revitalized the French political film genre in singular fashion; Agathe Rousselle, a thundering revelation in Julia Ducournau’s Titane, Palme d’Or winner at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival; and Yolande Zauberman, a multidisciplinary artist whose work is shot through with a profound sense of boldness and necessity.
They will collectively hand out the Louis Roederer Foundation Revelation Prize at the closing ceremony on September 10th.
