India Hair
ActressAbout
“Cinema is a place of refuge … A place with people I would never have met otherwise, and who, at the end of the film, become friends.”
Born to a French American father and an English mother, India Hair landed her first feature film role in 2011 in Raphaël Jacoulot’s The Night Clerk. The following year, she won the Lumière Award for Most Promising Young Actress and was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actress for her performance in Noémie Lvovsky’s Camille Rewinds. She went on to do as many roles in film (Alain Guiraudie’s Staying Vertical (2016), Hubert Charuel’s Bloody Milk (2017), Éric Gravel’s Crash Test Aglaé (2017) and most recently Quentin Dupieux’s Mandibles (2020)) as on the small screen (Laurent Perreau’s The Odd Girl (2017), Jeanne Herry’ series Mouche (2019) or Eleanor Faucher’s Clumsy (2019)). This year, India Hair was again nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actress for her role in Olivier Babinet’s Sexfish. She will soon be seen on Arte in Jérôme Bonnell’s miniseries Les hautes herbes and on the big screen in Ursula Meier’s La Ligne and Sandrine Kiberlain’s first film A Radiant Girl.
