Jacques Loeuille

Born in 1983 in France, he stud­ied at the fine-arts school of Nantes, at Con­cor­dia Uni­ver­si­ty in Mon­tre­al, and Le Fres­noy – Nation­al Stu­dio for Con­tem­po­rary Arts. He then made video instal­la­tions, arts films, doc­u­men­taries, and film essays, includ­ing por­traits of artists such as painters Modigliani and Rubens, nov­el­ist Mar­guerite Yource­nar, and the pio­neer of abstrac­tion art Kup­ka. Birds of Amer­i­ca is his fea­ture-length doc­u­men­tary debut.
