Since 2011, the Deauville American Film Festival commended emerging figures of the seventh art. From Ryan Gosling (2011) and Jessica Chastain (2011) to Ana de Armas (2022) and Emilia Clarke (2023), including Paul Dano (2012) and Robert Pattinson (2015), among others, the Hollywood Raising-Star Award highlights the actors and actresses of today to better reveal the faces of tomorrow’s cinema. For this 50th edition, the Hollywood Raising-Star Award for an emerging actor will be given to Sebastian Stan, in his presence.
Stan has received multiple accolades for his transformative roles in both television and film projects. Stan recently won the Silver Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival. He received Emmy, Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations for “Best Actor in a Limited Series” for his portrayal of Tommy Lee in Hulu’s Pam and Tommy. He received a Critics Choice nomination for his performance starring opposite Daisy Edgar Jones in the Searchlight cult hit, Fresh. Stan is best known for his role as The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes in the Captain America and Avengers franchises, the series, Falcon & The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Thunderbolts.
Alongside these Disney blockbusters, Sebastian Stan have also revealed himself in more intimate feature films, where his acting and nuances are in evidence including I Tonya with Margo Robbie and Destroyer with Nicole Kidman. Whether he’s playing an ambitious young Donald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice or a physically transformed stage actor in Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man, Sebastian Stan can’t help but deliver stunning performances.
Saluting talent and daring, the Deauville American Film Festival is thrilled to welcome Sebastian Stan to award him with the Hollywood Raising-Star Award.
