Sebastian Stan Hollywood Raising-Star Award

Since 2011, the Deauville Amer­i­can Film Fes­ti­val com­mend­ed emerg­ing fig­ures of the sev­enth art. From Ryan Gosling (2011) and Jes­si­ca Chas­tain (2011) to Ana de Armas (2022) and Emil­ia Clarke (2023), includ­ing Paul Dano (2012) and Robert Pat­tin­son (2015), among oth­ers, the Hol­ly­wood Rais­ing-Star Award high­lights the actors and actress­es of today to bet­ter reveal the faces of tomor­row’s cin­e­ma. For this 50th edi­tion, the Hol­ly­wood Rais­ing-Star Award for an emerg­ing actor will be giv­en to Sebas­t­ian Stan, in his presence.

Stan has received mul­ti­ple acco­lades for his trans­for­ma­tive roles in both tele­vi­sion and film projects. Stan recent­ly won the Sil­ver Bear Award at the Berlin Film Fes­ti­val. He received Emmy, Gold­en Globe and Crit­ics Choice nom­i­na­tions for “Best Actor in a Lim­it­ed Series” for his por­tray­al of Tom­my Lee in Hulu’s Pam and Tom­my. He received a Crit­ics Choice nom­i­na­tion for his per­for­mance star­ring oppo­site Daisy Edgar Jones in the Search­light cult hit, Fresh. Stan is best known for his role as The Win­ter Soldier/Bucky Barnes in the Cap­tain Amer­i­ca and Avengers fran­chis­es, the series, Fal­con & The Win­ter Sol­dier and the upcom­ing Thun­der­bolts.

Along­side these Dis­ney block­busters, Sebas­t­ian Stan have also revealed him­self in more inti­mate fea­ture films, where his act­ing and nuances are in evi­dence includ­ing I Tonya with Mar­go Rob­bie and Destroy­er with Nicole Kid­man. Whether he’s play­ing an ambi­tious young Don­ald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s The Appren­tice or a phys­i­cal­ly trans­formed stage actor in Aaron Schimberg’s A Dif­fer­ent Man, Sebas­t­ian Stan can’t help but deliv­er stun­ning performances.
