Tim Bur­ton first expressed him­self through draw­ing, paint­ing, poet­ry and pho­tog­ra­phy. Praised as one of the world’s most inven­tive film­mak­ers, he direct­ed clas­sic films (Beetle­juice, 1988, Edward Scis­sorhands, 1990…), but also block­busters (Bat­man, 1989, Char­lie and the Choco­late Fac­to­ry, 2005, Alice in Won­der­land, 2010…). He also rein­vig­o­rat­ed stop-motion ani­mat­ed film (The Night­mare Before Christ­mas, 1993, Corpse Bride, 2005…).
