About

Born in South­ern Cal­i­for­nia, she attend­ed UCLA where she received a B.A. in art. In 1962, she worked on Fran­cis Ford Coppola’s Demen­tia 13. The next year, they were mar­ried. Dur­ing the mak­ing of Apoc­a­lypse Now, she shot the acclaimed doc­u­men­tary film Hearts of Dark­ness: A Film­mak­er’s Apoc­a­lypse (1991). Her draw­ings, pho­tos, and con­cep­tu­al art pieces have been exhib­it­ed in many gal­leries and muse­ums. In 2016, at the age of 80, she direct­ed her first fea­ture film, Paris Can Wait.
