His cred­its include, among oth­ers, On the Ropes (1999), The Kid Stays in the Pic­ture, pre­sent­ed at Deauville in 2002, and Cobain: Mon­tage of Heck (2015). He has received near­ly every indus­try hon­or, but also the Emmy Award for Best Direc­tor, 9 indi­vid­ual Prime­time Emmy nom­i­na­tions, 18 Prime­time Emmy nom­i­na­tions for his past three films, two Peabody Awards, and both BAFTA and Acad­e­my Award nominations.
