R. J. Cutler

Born in 1962 in New York, he grad­u­at­ed from Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty in 1984. He began his career by pro­duc­ing D.A. Pen­nebak­er and Chris Hegedu’s The War Room, an Oscar-nom­i­nat­ed doc­u­men­tary about Bill Clin­ton pres­i­den­tial cam­paign of 1992. He then direct­ed sev­er­al acclaimed doc­u­men­tary films, such as the 1998 Emmy-nom­i­nat­ed A Per­fect Can­di­date, the 2009 Sun­dance Award-win­ning The Sep­tem­ber Issue, and The World Accord­ing to Dick Cheney in 2013.
